Dr. Jennifer A. Christie earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan and attended Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, where she earned her MD. She completed her internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and her GI fellowship at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.
Currently, Dr. Christie is the Division Head of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Colorado in the Department of Medicine. She is also president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), one of the leading international professional organizations in GI.
Dr. Christie is a physician-scientist and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, abstracts, and book chapters. Her research has broadly focused on gastrointestinal motility disorders and the GI health of underserved populations. For more than two decades, she has been an investigator on trials focused on gastroparesis, irritable bowel syndrome, colorectal cancer screening inequities, and Clostridium difficile, among other areas. She has served on multiple NIH review panels and has delivered over 150 invited regional, national, and international lectures.
