Jenney Samuelson is the Associate Director of the Vermont Blueprint for Health a nationally recognized program established by the State of Vermont, under the leadership of its Governor, Legislature and the bi-partisan Health Care Reform Commission to spearhead health care delivery system transformation.
Jenney leads operations for the Blueprint and works closely with Agency of Human Services leadership on health care policy design and planning. In 2016, Jenney led the process to design the Blueprint's Women's Health Initiative, aimed at supporting women's physical and psycho-social wellbeing and decreasing unintended pregnancies. The initiative launched to most of Vermont's women's health clinics and many social service agencies and community service organizations within the year, and has since expanded to include primary care providers interested in enhancing their screenings and services for women.
Jenney was previously an Assistant Director, administering the Blueprint's statewide expansion, coaching and mentoring local teams, guiding the Blueprint Expansion and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP) of trained practice facilitators who support continuous quality improvement in over 100 Vermong primary care practices, and overseeing the Blueprint's community-based self-management programs.
For a decade prior to joining the Blueprint, Ms. Samuelson administered diverse community and statewide public health programs including a four-county health careers workforce development program, quality improvement with health systems to support tobacco cessation in primary care practices, and the State of Vermont’s Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. She holds a Masters of Science in Community Health Education from Southern Illinois University.
