Dr. Jason J. Halvorson is a board-certified orthopaedic trauma surgeon and nationally recognized leader in orthopaedic education. He serves as an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he is the program director for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program and vice chair of education for the Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute.

With a strong commitment to global health, Dr. Halvorson has helped establish international orthopaedic partnerships and has led medical education initiatives in Ghana. He is actively involved in institutional leadership, trauma care innovation and surgical education, and he serves on multiple national committees, including those for AO North America and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. He is also a journal editor for Orthopaedics and Injury.

Dr. Halvorson has received numerous honours for teaching, leadership and clinical excellence, including the Kappa Delta Elizabeth Winston Lanier Award and recognition as a Top Doctor by multiple organizations. Dr. Halvorson received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed residency in orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He went on to complete a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
