2026 Southeastern Fracture Symposium (SEFS)

The Southeastern Fracture Symposium (SEFS) is an annual multidisciplinary meeting dedicated to advancing education, research, and collaboration in orthopaedic trauma. Hosted by the Southeastern Fracture Consortium Foundation, SEFS 2026 will take place January 29–31, 2026 at the West Beach Conference Center, part of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, South Carolina.

Now in its 38th year, SEFS continues its tradition of fostering an intimate and highly interactive learning environment where orthopaedic surgeons, residents, fellows, physician assistants, and allied health professionals can engage with leaders in the field, share experiences, and discuss the latest challenges and innovations in fracture care.

The 2026 symposium will feature:

• Comprehensive scientific sessions covering complex fracture management, geriatric trauma, orthopaedic innovations, and challenging case discussions.
• Interactive case-based panels and workshops designed to promote open dialogue and practical problem-solving.
• A well-rounded agenda that spans bone health, nutrition, multimodal pain control, wound care, international initiatives, and more.
• Research competition offering podium and poster presentation opportunities, with top abstracts recognized with awards and complimentary registration.
• Networking and collaboration opportunities in a collegial setting, supporting mentorship and long-term professional relationships.

SEFS is renowned for its welcoming format, encouraging both faculty and attendees to engage in candid discussion, share difficult cases, and learn from one another in order to improve patient care and outcomes across the Southeast and beyond.

Learning Objectives:

• Evaluate current evidence and best practices in the management of complex fractures, including geriatric, periprosthetic, and pediatric fracture care.
• Apply advanced surgical techniques and decision-making strategies for challenging cases such as pelvic ring injuries, calcaneus fractures, elbow instability, and nonunion/malunion.
• Integrate multimodal approaches to optimize patient recovery, including pain control, bone health, nutrition, and care of medically complex and diabetic patients.
• Identify strategies to prevent and manage complications related to traumatic wounds, infection, and limb salvage.
• Foster collaboration among surgeons, APPs, researchers, and allied health professionals to improve standards of care across diverse healthcare settings.
