Janet Eileen Shepherd MD

Dr. Jan Shepherd received her MD from Northwestern University, completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati, then went on to fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of South Alabama.
She currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, as the Medical Advisor for the Women’s Wellness Connection at the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, as Associate Medical Director of Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center in Boulder, Colorado, and as Medical Advisor for the Women’s Health and Menopause Center in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Shepherd also has a continuing appointment as Adjunct Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine, where she was the founding Education Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Shepherd is a nationally recognized speaker on women’s health issues, having been invited to give hundreds of talks locally, nationally, and internationally in the past 25 years. She has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals on topics in obstetrics and gynecology and serves a Reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology and on the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association. She has also taught contraception internationally for USAID.
