Dr. James T. D'Olimpio, Director of Supportive and Palliative Care/Cancer Pain Service at North Shore University Hospital, has been dedicated to serving the medical community for over 37 years. With an extensive history in oncology research and treatment, Dr.D'Olimpio is triple Board Certified in the fields of Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hospice/Palliative Medicine. Also Assistant Professor of Medicine at Hofstra/NorthShore-LIJ School of Medicine, his position is affiliated with the Monter Cancer Center of the North Shore-LIJ Health System.

Dr. D'Olimpio has always known he wanted to help others through practicing medicine. He completed his MD studies at Mt. Sanai’s Fifth Pathway Program and was awarded his MD by the University of the State of New York, has begun medical school at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico prior to finishing at Mt. Sanai. He received his Bachelors in Biology from Boston University. Through academics, research, and experience, he has accrued a vast amount of knowledge in his field. Prior to his current role, he was the Medical Director for the Hospice Care Network in Westbury from 1992-1999, helping to form the programs for Hospice and Palliative care, which are still helping patients today.
