James Bernard Hermiller Jr MD, FACC, MSCAI

As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Hermiller provides minimally invasive, transcatheter diagnostic and treatment services for conditions affecting the heart and cardiovascular system. This may include the diagnosis and treatment of valvular and structural heart disease and vascular blockages, chronic or unstable angina, and congestive heart failure. In providing care, Dr. Hermiller may utilize minimally-invasive catheterizations, offering easier access the heart and vascular system.

As a cardiologist, Dr. Hermiller is trained to deliver extensive therapy for the cardiovascular system and heart. Heart illnesses that may be diagnosed and remedied by a cardiologist may include rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, heart aneurysms, angina and arrhythmia, among others. At St. Vincent Cardiovascular Research Institute, Dr. Hermiller is an advisory board member and is a national and local principal investigator of valve surgery techniques and cardiothoracic medical devices. He is an active physician-researcher involved in many types of single-site and multi-center clinical trials. He is also an author and co-author or many cardiology publications and presenter at international and national cardiology meetings and scientific sessions.
