Dr. Richard Schatz Interventional Cardiology Summit is organized by Scripps Health and will be held from Sep 09 - 10, 2019 at Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club, Carmel-By-The-Sea, California, United States of America.
Overview:
Interventional cardiology is one of the most explosive disciplines in the history of medicine. In a short 40 years the role of the cardiologist has transformed from a diagnostic to therapeutic one, by percutaneously repairing coronaries, valves, ASDs, VSDs, carotids, peripheral arteries, and more. The pace of progress in interventional cardiology procedures is astounding and requires constant education and the sharing of ideas and concepts in order to continue the learning process. The unique format of this summit using only complex case presentations instead of lectures encourages a free exchange of ideas and provides participants a rare chance to engage world experts in an intimate setting.
Educational Objectives:
After attending this live activity, participants should be able to:
• Integrate new products and techniques into daily practice.
• Assess complications early and problem solve.
• Define proper decisions for STEMI patients.
• Evaluate unprotected left main patients for optimal PCI vs CABG.
• Describe techniques to avoid complications based on complex TAVR case presentations.
• Demonstrate technical approaches to complex peripheral interventions.
• Determine when to use Impella™ vs ECMO for hemodynamic improvement in patients with cardiogenic shock.
• Evaluate antegrade vs. retrograde approaches to PCI treatment for chronic total occlusions.
• Assess wire escalation in CTOs.
• Discuss how to manage perforations with coils and covered stents.
