James Alexander Mckinnell MD

Dr. James A. McKinnell is an Infectious Disease specialist from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute. Dr. McKinnell’s research focuses on health outcomes as they relate to antibiotic utilization and infection. McKinnell has co-authored more than 20 publications including investigations on the impact of drug selection on healthcare outcomes, quality of care, and predictors of treatment failure for bacterial and fungal infections.\r\n\tDr. McKinnell received research support from the UCLA KL2 Translational Science Scholars award for his investigations of VRE bloodstream infections. Dr. McKinnell has developed electronic relationships between datasets and personal relationships between the various stakeholders of the clinical data systems including clinical databases, microbiology, anitbiotic utilization and health economic outcomes.
