James A. Goldstein MD, FACC, FSCAI

James A. Goldstein, MD, FACC, is the Director of Cardiovascular Research and Education at Beaumont Hospital, and Professor of Medicine at the Oakland University-William Beaumont School of Medicine in Royal Oak, Michigan. He graduated from the University of Chicago, School of Medicine, in Chicago, IL in 1976 and completed his Clinical and Research Cardiology Fellowships at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco, CA in 1982. After Fellowship he joined the Cardiology Division at Stanford University, then subsequently joined Washington University-Barnes Hospital where he worked in Interventional Cardiology and directed the Heart Failure-Transplant service. For the past 17 years, Dr. Goldstein has been Director of Research and Education in the Cardiology Division of William Beaumont Hospital. His clinical interests include acute ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure, diseases of the pericardium and bedside physical examination. His Clinical Research interests include hemodynamics, heart failure, RV Infarction, and plaque characterization employing advanced non-invasive and direct coronary imaging techniques. Dr. Goldstein has published over 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and over 20 book chapters. He lectures around the world and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Society of Cardiac Angiography, is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is on the Editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
