Jaime A. Davidson is originally from San Jose, Costa Rica. He graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico with honors. He completed his internship and Internal Medicine Residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital (Texas A&M) and Endocrinology at Indiana University School of Medicine. Upon completion, he held the position of Chief of the Endocrinology Service at Methodist Hospital of Dallas. He also served as Chief of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. At the present time, he is a Clinical Professor of Medicine, at Diabetes Touchstone Center, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Davidson is one of the original AACE charter members and continues to serve uninterrupted in various positions, most recently as an advisor to the Board. 

Dr. Davidson served in higher education as a Regent of Midwestern State University. He chaired the Texas Diabetes Council, and the Texas Department of Health; chaired the CDC Minority Initiatives; and served on the Translation Committee. He was an FDA advisor in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Diseases. He also served on the National Diabetes Advisory Board and reported on the State of Diabetes at the Veterans Administration. For the Institute of Medicine, his involvement included the work on Priority Areas for National Action, Transforming Health Care Quality.
