Jaan Toelen MD, PhD

Jaan Toelen is a Professor in the Paediatric Department of UZ Leuven (Belgium). He has a special interest in general paediatrics and diagnostics. Prof. Toelen has established his research in the area of perinatal pulmonary disease. His research has resulted in a novel preterm rabbit model for studies into hyperoxia-induced lung injury. The model has been successfully employed to test the translational potential of 4 clinically relevant drugs. Professor Toelen dedicated his professional path to clinical practice, translational science and educational innovation.
