Hasan Jilaihawi, MD, is an Interventional Cardiologist and the Director of Interventional Cardiology Imaging at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. He is involved in all aspects of cardiology, with a special interest in innovative methods of imaging the heart, complex percutaneous coronary intervention and device and patient selection within the novel field of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). His international reputation in the field has earned him the prestigious responsibility of running the CT corelab for the pivotal US trial of the Portico device, the world’s first fully repositionable and retrievable TAVR, as well as the CT corelab for China’s first TAVR trial Raised from childhood in the UK.
Dr. Jilaihawi graduated from the University of Edinburgh with Honors. He has completed the highest standard of clinical training in several nations world-wide, including Scotland (Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh), England (Barts and The Royal London Hospital and University Hospitals of Leicester), the USA (Harvard Medical School), France (Clinique Pasteur, Toulouse) and Canada (Montreal Heart Institute). Following this global experience, Dr. Jilaihawi completed an advanced interventional cardiology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, accredited by UCLA School of Medicine. Eloquent in English, French and Arabic, Dr. Jilaihawi’s trans-Atlantic experience is unique in that he is one of only a handful of physicians in the world to complete full interventional cardiology training for two continents (North America and Europe).
