Harold Sackeim PhD

Dr. Harold Sackeim, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) College of Medicine. He is a distinguished clinical psychologist and internationally recognized researcher whose work has made major contributions to psychiatry, neuromodulation, and the treatment of mood disorders.

Dr. Sackeim received his bachelor's degree from Columbia University, a bachelor's and master's degree from Magdalen College at the University of Oxford, and his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. He subsequently joined the faculty at Columbia University, where he served for more than 25 years as Chief of the Department of Biological Psychiatry at the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
