Gordon Cook MBChB, PhD, FRCP, FRCPath

Professor Gordon Cook qualified in medicine at The University of Glasgow and undertook his higher professional training in haematology in the West of Scotland. Following completion of his PhD, Professor Cook was appointed Consultant Haematologist in the West of Scotland before moving to Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust in 2002. Professor Cook’s principal interest is in the treatment of myeloma. He is Clinical Lead for the service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust and also has responsibility for the myeloma clinical research portfolio. In addition, he leads a small, peer-review grant-funded research group, which focuses on tumour immunology and immunotherapy.

He is the president and remains is a highly active member of the British Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation as well as several other professional organisations including Myeloma UK, The National Cancer Research Institute, the UK Myeloma Research Alliance and the UK Myeloma Forum. Professor Cook has an extensive research portfolio and is currently Chief Investigator for a number of clinical trials, focusing on the treatment of myeloma.
