Dr. Abu-Sittah completed Medical School at University of Glasgow, followed by four years of Residency at Barts and London NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust. This was followed by Craniofacial Surgery, Cleft Surgery, and Trauma Fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust, Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust and Barts and London NHS Trust. He completed his higher surgical training under the Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in 2010.
Currently, he is an instructor of Clinical Surgery, an Assistant Professor of Surgery and the Head of Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. In addition, he is the Conflict Medicine Program co-Director at the Global Health Institute. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. Clinically, he specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery. His research interests include cleft and craniofacial surgery, e-learning in plastic surgery and conflict surgery.
