George Cho, Ph.D., is a Professor of Geoinformatics and Law at the University of Canberra. George was the Chair of the Academic Board (2008-2013) the peak academic body on quality and standards and in 2018 he was Acting Deputy Vice-chancellor of Research and Innovation at the University of Canberra. He obtained an Honours degree in Arts from the University of Malaya, a master's from the University of British Columbia, and a Ph.D. from the Australian National University. He also gained a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from the University of Canberra and an LLB from the Australian National University.

George Cho was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and the High Court of Australia and is a barrister-at-law in New South Wales. He practices law pro bono for the Welfare Rights and Legal Centre Night Time Legal Advice Service in Canberra. George was made a member of the Order Of Australia in 2005 for his services to higher education and to the study Of geographic information systems.

George Cho has published numerous books and journal articles on law and geography topics, including Geographic Information Science: Mastering the Legal Issues (John Wiley 2005); Marketers and the Law (LBC Sydney, 2000, with Clark and Hoyle); E-business: Law and Management for the 21st Century (Info-Sys International publications, Canberra 2000, with Clark and Hoyle); Y2K: Avoiding the Legal Byte (prospect publications, 1999, with Clark and Hoyle); Geographic Information Systems and the Law (John Wiley, 1998) and fifteen other prior book publications. George has also written book chapters in various texts including Commercial and Economic Law in Australia (Griggs et al. Kluwer Law Intl. Alphen aan den Rijn, 2018); 'E-commerce law' in The International Encyclopedia of Laws; and 'E-commerce: Legal and Policy Framework' in the book Managers and the Law: A Guide for Business Decision Makers, edited by Griggs,
