OVERVIEW

Successful implant osseointegration is well documented over the past forty years. Implant dentistry has not been formally presented in dental school until the mid 2000's, until now. Our dental students at the Ostrow School of Dentistry are currently treatment planning, working with surgical residents in the placement of dental implants and are successfully restoring cement retained and screw retained restorations. This program will educate the dentist in the most predictable manner to learn and treat patient that have missing teeth with the dental implant and its restoration. Aspects of treatment planning will be discussed and compared with conventional dentistry vs implant dentistry.

The participant will become knowledgeable about CT scan, radiographic and surgical guides, implant components, implant provisional restorations, and screw retained and cement retained restoration. This course is designed for those that wish to begin implant treatment for their patients and those that would like a better basic understanding of dental implants.
