Dr. Kusumoto is Director Heart Rhythm Services Mayo Clinic Florida and Professor at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He has written five books on cardiac pathophysiology and cardiac devices, including texts that have been translated into Chinese and Portuguese. He has authored over 60 journal articles and book chapters. His research interests include evaluation of quality of life and healthcare outcomes with electrophysiology procedures, particularly in the elderly and use of implantable cardiac devices. He has received several awards for teaching excellence, and served on HRS’s Scientific and Clinical Documents Committee, among others. After receiving his medical degree from University of California San Diego Medical School, he completed his training at the University of California, San Francisco.
