Professor Frank Ruschitzka, MD, FRCP (Edinburgh), FESC
is head of the Heart Failure and Transplantation Clinic at the University Hospital in Zürich, Switzerland. Professor Ruschitzka received his medical degree from the University of Göttingen in Germany in 1989. He specialized in internal medicine, nephrology and cardiology at the Universities of Göttingen and Zürich.
In 2001, he received the Vascular Biology Prize awarded by the Swiss Society of Cardiology and the Annual Award from the Swiss Society of Hypertension. In 2003, he was awarded the annual Götz-Preis of the Medical Faculty of the University of Zürich for excellence
in clinical medicine and research.
Professor Ruschitzka is deputy editor of the European Heart Journal, member of the programme committee of the European Society of Cardiology and the World Congress of Cardiology, board member of the ESC Heart Failure Association and has published in such
peer-reviewed journals as The Lancet, Circulation, Proceedings of the National Academy of
Sciences, Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, the FASEB Journal, Hypertension,
and Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
