Maarten Simons MD, PhD

Dr. Filip Muysoms, MD is head of the department of abdominal surgery at AZ Maria Middelares, in Ghent, Belgium. He specializes in minimally invasive digestive surgery and robotic proctorship. He acted as a moderator during the 5th international Hernia Congress in New York (United States) and participated in numerous workshops and meetings on the hernia repair topic. Dr. Filip Muysoms, MD is a board member of the Belgian Section for Abdominal Wall Surgery since 2005, and he was appointed President between 2008 and 2010. He is also a Board member and Secretary of the Quality of the European Hernia Society (EHS) since 2013, and he is currently the president of this Society.
