Eric Egan Johnson MD, FRCSI

Eric E. Johnson, MD, is an experienced orthopedic trauma specialist who leads his own practice in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. He earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. He completed an internship and residency in surgery there in the following years. He then moved to California to perform an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Johnson then took his talents and ambitions overseas, first to Hanover, Germany, and then to Paris, France. In Hannover, Dr. Johnson completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery at Hannover Medical School. In Paris, he completed a fellowship in pelvic and acetabular fracture surgery at the Centre Medico-Chirurgical de la Porte de Choisy and the University of Paris.

Dr. Johnson is certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a faculty member at AO/ASIF, the past president of AO North America, a past member of the Board of Directors of the AO Foundation, an honorary member of the AO Foundation, and a member of the German and Argentine Trauma Societies. Additionally, Dr. Johnson has been named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Dr. Johnson's professional affiliations, he has also authored 47 published abstracts, 51 peer-reviewed publications, and 11 book chapters. By the end of 2019, Dr. Johnson will have given over 230 international presentations and 228 national presentations at annual orthopedic gatherings. He has also served as the chairman for over 45 national and international orthopedic fracture courses in his esteemed career.
