Emmanouil P. Pappou MD, PhD, FASCRS

Dr. Emmanouil Pappou’s clinical interests include the entire spectrum of colorectal surgery including benign and malignant conditions, anorectal, abdominal and pelvic surgery, as well as minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopic, robotic and endolumenal procedures. Serving as surgical lead for the Pelvic Floor program, Dr. Pappou is well versed in minimally invasive approaches including robotic surgery and sacral neurostimulation (SNS).
Dr. Pappou’s position also includes leadership in clinical and laboratory research and outcomes within the Division of Colorectal Surgery. He has a keen interest in research and is an author on numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, published abstracts, oral presentations and book chapters. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Johns Hopkins George D. Zuidema Research Award for Meritorious Laboratory Research for work on novel chemotherapy treatments in colorectal cancer.
