Dr. Ellen D. Mandel is a Clinical Professor at the Pace University, College of Health Professions; Department of Physician Assistant Studies in Manhattan. She is a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator, licensed physician assistant, and received her Doctor of Medical Humanities from Drew University in 2007. Dr. Mandel has been a diabetes/medical/nutrition educator for over thirty years. She is the recipient of the national Paragon publishing award from the American Academy of Physician Assistants and awarded the "Outstanding PA Educator of the Year" from the NJ State Society of Physician Assistants. Her particular areas of primary research are in the areas of empathy, and ethics and her groundbreaking empathy research article were recently published in the Journal of PA Education. She lectures nationally and enjoys imparting practical information to all healthcare providers in an effort to empower them and their patients for the best possible outcomes of care.
