Edward W. Hook, Iii MD

Dr. Edward Hook III is Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology and Director of the STD Control Program for the Jefferson County (Alabama) Department of Health. He is medical director of the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Control Program for the Jefferson County Health Department in Birmingham, Alabama, and a professor of medicine/epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also co-director of the UAB Center for Social Medicine and STDs.

Hook received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed his residencies at the University of Washington Affiliated Hospital and Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
