Dr. Ted Parks grew up in Denver, Colorado. He received both a bachelors and a Masters degree in biological sciences from Stanford University and then his M.D. from Yale Medical School. Following his graduation from Yale, Dr. Parks completed his internship and orthopedic residency training at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California and completed a fellowship in sports medicine with Dr. Frank Noyes in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Parks is specialty trained in advanced arthroscopic reconstruction of the knee and shoulder and has been a team physician for numerous high school, college, and professional athletes. His expertise includes hip and knee replacement, shoulder surgery and arthroscopic knee reconstruction. Dr. Parks joined Western Orthopaedics, P.C. in 1994 and provides services to patients in outreach clinics monthly in Kansas.

He is a clinical professor at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. In 2008 he received the "Outstanding Clinical Faculty Teaching Award" and in 2009, 2010 as well as 2011 the Peak Performers award for orthopedics. He is also an instructor for the American College of Physicians (regionally and nationally) and has been chosen by 5280 Magazine as one of Denver’s "Top Docs" eleven years in a row. Dr. Parks is Board Certified and is a Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of numerous organizations including The Colorado Medical Society.
