Mr. Edward R. Gaines III, also known as Ed, JD, CCP serves as Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President of Medical Management Professionals, Inc. Mr. Gaines serves as Chief Compliance Officer for Emergency Medicine at Zotec Partners, LLC. He is responsible for compliance and coding quality assurance and training for Zotec’s emergency medicine clients. He is actively involved with Zotec’s clients in the areas of Medicare fee schedules, CPT coding, and balance billing issues at the state and federal levels. He served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President at Healthcare Business Resources, Inc. He was responsible for HBRs legal and compliance affairs. He developed and implemented the HBRs compliance program, the first ever for the billing industry. He has more than 21 years of experience specializing in emergency medicine. He was a founding member and is a Fellow of the Health Ethics Trust. Mr. Gaines serves as Co-Chair of the Health Care Compliance Best Practices Forum. He is a co-founder and served as Chairman of EDPMA. He served on the Board of the Emergency Department Practice Management Association. He was in private practice specializing in litigation.
