Edward F. Aulisi, MD, FACS, FAANS, is a board certified neurosurgeon with advanced training and interests in tumors of the skull base, pituitary tumors, neurovascular microsurgery, complicated spinal surgery, neurotrauma and computer-assisted neurosurgery. He is the Chairman of Neurosurgery, as well as the Medical Director of the Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit, at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, the largest hospital in Washington, D.C.

He is a Professor of Neurosurgery at Georgetown University Hospital, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgery. A, Honors graduate of Princeton University, Dr. Aulisi completed his medical school and residency training at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. He has received additional training in complex spinal surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, and surgery for tumors at the base of the skull, including pituitary tumors. He has performed over 1,000 pituitary tumor surgeries. Dr. Aulisi is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Aulisi is the Chairman of Neurosurgery and the Medical Director of Neurosciences at the Center for Image Guided Neurosurgery, located at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, the most advanced hospital in the Washington, DC, and the only Level 1 trauma center in the nation’s capital. The physicians at this facility have a long standing tradition of excellence in the field of neurosurgery, which includes the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with brain, spine, spinal cord and peripheral nerve disorders.
