Dr. Addrizzo-Harris received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in 1989, where she remained for her internal medicine residency, chief resident year, and Pulmonary/ Critical Care fellowship. After completing her fellowship in 1996, she joined the NYU faculty where she supervised fellows in the Hospital of Joint Disease’s ICU and devoted the majority of her time at Bellevue Hospital teaching bronchoscopy. She was appointed Program Director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program in 2001, which she has grown to 23 fellows, and was appointed Pulmonary Critical Care Section Chief at Tisch Hospital in 2003. She is Co-Director of the Pulmonary/ Critical Care Faculty Group Practice and the new NYULMC Bronchiectasis Program.

Dr. Addrizzo-Harris has always been an active member of the teaching faculty since her chief medicine days and now teaches, not only for the fellowship and residency but also as the Lewis Thomas Firm Chief for the School of Medicine. Dr. Addrizzo-Harris will succeed Dr. William Rom, the Sol, and Judith Bergstein Professor of Medicine and Environmental Medicine. Dr. Rom will continue his work as an investigator following a sabbatical at the Environmental Protection Agency. An outstanding physician-scientist, Dr. Rom has led the Division since 1989. He is among a long line of distinguished faculty of the NYU Pulmonary Division, including luminaries such as Andre Cournand, who won the Nobel Prize in 1956, John McClement, William Harris, and Roberta Goldring.
