OVERVIEW

Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors (APCCMPD) 2021 Annual Conference is organized by Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors (APCCMPD) and will be held from Mar 03 - 05, 2021.

 Learning Objectives:
Attend and learn how to:   
? Apply strategies to address gender and racial disparities in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine3. Understand how to develop specific tracks in in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine fellowships.
• Describe the gender and racial disparities and identify the difference between bias, microaggressions, and harassment.
• Employ skills to combat microaggressions and allied behaviors from co-workers and patients.
• Participants will be equipped with concrete tools related to how to be an ally against sexism and racism in our workplace and community
? Understand and apply the adaptability quotient to address change.
• Explain and describe the adaptability quotient.
• Discuss how adaptability can influence performance and achievement and how to foster an adaptive mindset.
• Apply these concepts to improving our own leadership skills as well as those of our trainees. 
? Understand how to develop specific tracks in in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine fellowships.
• Identify the goals and objectives of developing a track.
• Discuss how to utilize local, regional, and national resources to develop a track.
• Determine the pros and cons of developing tracks.
? Hear best practices in narrative assessment as well as strategies for providing faculty development on this topic
• Describe features of high-quality narrative assessment.
• Develop a framework for providing narrative assessment that is specific and provides learners with actionable suggestions for improved   performance.
• Create a faculty development workshop at your own institution on how to improve narrative assessment.
? Become familiar with the concept of psychological safety, its benefits for the learning environment and the learner, and methods to foster it.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics of a psychological safe environment and of a psychologically unsafe learning environment.
• Hear the evidence that supports the centrality of psychological safety in medical education and the missed opportunities from conventional   models of learning.
• Apply ideas and methods of creating a psychologically safe learning environment to case-based scenarios and discussions of evidence-based   techniques 
? Develop Strategies to Prepare for National Policies Impacting GME
• Explain changes to existing ACGME Requirements
• Identify changes to ACGME IM Subspecialty Milestones
• Ask questions about ACGME policies and processes, including site visits
