Dr. Donal McLornan is a Consultant in Haematology and Stem Cell Transplantation, clinically specializing in Hematology-oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation. He has a particular interest in Myeloproliferative Disorders, Myelodysplasia, Acute Myeloid leukemia, and Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation. Dr McLornan's interests led him to lead the Myeloid Disorders MDM across South East London and to be part of the NCRI MPN working group. He is the current chair of the MPN subcommittee of the Chronic Malignancy Working Party of EBMT. He has extensive clinical trial expertise and is the Chief Investigator or Principal Investigator of multiple clinical trials in the field of MPN.

Dr. McLornan graduated in 1999 from Queen's University Belfast with Honours, undertaking a further one-year period at Hammersmith Hospital, specializing in Allogeneic and Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation for post-graduate training. During this post-graduate training, he was awarded a prestigious MRC fellowship and completed a PhD investigating drug resistance in Acute Myeloid leukemia for which he received several awards. He has also authored over 80 papers and has a special research interest in Myeloproliferative Disease. He is currently supervising two MD students. He is a member of EHA, EBMT, and BSH, while regularly speaking internationally on MPN, MDS, and allogeneic SCT.
