Denise Nix (also known as Dee Dee) is an RN and a Board Certified Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse Specialist who has spent over 28 years in clinical practice in Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics. She received her Baccalaureate and Masters degrees in nursing from St. Catherine University and the University of Minnesota respectively. Former associate director for the webWOC Nursing Education program at Metropolitan State University, Denise’s passion for education is evident in her authorship in journals, book chapters, and textbooks. Denise is co editor of Acute and Chronic Wounds; Current Management Concepts, recipient of an American Journal of Nursing book of the year award and now in it’s 5th Edition. Denise also serves as a litigations consultant, national and international speaker, and consultant for the Minnesota Hospital Association’s SAFE SKIN collaborative which involves over 100 Minnesota Hospitals.
