Denise has been practicing as a speech pathologist since 1977 and maintains a private practice in Indiana, PA. Denise was one of the first speech pathologists trained in VitalStim and has consulted with patients from the US and overseas. Her patients were featured in the VitalStim brochure and her program has been spotlighted in numerous newspaper articles and television programs.

Denise served as President of the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology (AAPPSPA). She received the Academy's 2007 Honor Award for her achievements and the 2014 Achievement Award. She has served as a legal consultant/expert witness in lawsuits involving dysphagia and negligence, wrongful death. She serves on the Expert Work Group for Quality Insights of Pennsylvania initiating quality measures for improving effectiveness, efficiency, economy, and quality of services delivered to Medicare Beneficiaries and represents private practice on the ASHA Health Care Economics Committee.
