David S. Goldfarb MD is Chief of Nephrology and medical director of hemodialysis at the New York VA Medical Center, Clinical Chief of Nephrology at NYU Langone Medical Center and Professor of Medicine and Physiology at NYU School of Medicine. He graduated from Yale College and the Yale School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine and nephrology at the New York VA and NYU. He is the director of the kidney stone prevention programs at the New York VA and the Endourology Section of Lenox Hill Hospital. He also serves as a consultant to the New York City Poison Center. 

Currently, he is the principal investigator of the cystinuria project, part of the Rare Kidney Stone Consortium (see www.rarekidneystones.org) funded by NIDDK and the Office of Rare Disease Research. He is on the editorial board of Biomed Central Nephrology and Kidney International, is an associate editor of Advances in Chronic Kidney Disease, and is the Journal Club editor of CJASN’s incipient eJournal Club.
