David H. Miller MD

Professor David Miller is Professor of Neurology at UCL. He is a clinical neurologist and runs a large tertiary referral service for neuro-inflammatory disorders. His work on brain imaging applied to multiple sclerosis has been of fundamental importance in understanding the sequence of events in MS relapses. He provided key evidence for the effectiveness of disease modifying treatments through monthly MRI scanning with gadolinium chelates to detect active lesions. He led the proof-of-concept trials of natalizumab, an anti-adhesion molecule antibody that is now widely used to treat very active relapsing remitting MS.
