Daniel Cezary Zielonka MD, PhD

Dr. Daniel Zielonka graduated with an M.D. degree from the Medical Academy of Poznan. He was engaged in research concerning Huntington’s disease (HD) during his medical study. In 2004 he defended his Ph.D. thesis at the Medical Academy in Poznan, Poland. Dr. Daniel Zielonka started to work at the Chair of Social Medicine at the Medical Academy in Poznan in the 2006 year, later, when the name of this institution was changed into the Poznan University of Medical Sciences in 2007 he still continued his work in this institution. In 2008 Dr. Daniel Zielonka finished his 5-years lasting training in neurology conducted in the Department of Neurology in the Medical Academy Hospital and in Hospital in Puszczykowo and passed his final exam to achieve a degree of specialist in neurology.

From the year 2006 Dr. Daniel Zielonka, based on his interest in HD research, achieved a position of a language area coordinator (LAC) for Poland of the European Huntington’s Disease Network (EHDN). From 2016 Dr. Daniel Zielonka acts as senior LAC of EHDN. From 2007 EHDN in Poland closely collaborate with the Polish Huntington’s Disease Association and in 2009 Dr. Daniel Zielonka was invited to act as a supporting member of this association. From 2014 until 2018 Dr. Daniel Zielonka was head of the Department of Epidemiology of Rare Diseases and Neuroepidemiology of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. In 2018 he organized the Movement Disorders Society conference placed in Poznan, entitled “Chorea and related disorders”, moreover upgraded his scientific degree achieving Assistant Professor degree (habilitation) and started to act as EHDN SBAC member.
