Damian McClelland qualified from The University College and Middlesex School of Medicine ( London) in 1994 and undertook surgical training in Stoke-On-Trent and further specialist Orthopaedic training on the Stoke/Oswestry Orthopaedic rotation between 1994 and 2004. In 2004/5 he completed a specialist fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow surgery in Melbourne, Australia. On returning he was a consultant in Telford and Oswestry before starting as a consultant in Stoke in 2006 and has continued to develop his specialist interest in all aspects of open and arthroscopic ( Key-hole) Shoulder and Elbow surgery since then. He is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Nuffield Health, North Staffordshire Hospital.

He has given invited lectures around the world on orthopedic surgery, and shoulder and elbow research and has been invited to demonstrate specialist surgical and operative techniques in live televised surgical cases in the UK and Europe.

Damian is interested in research and education and has published a number of research papers in Shoulder and Elbow surgery since taking up his consultant post. He has been part of an international group of specialists invited to teach orthopedic trauma management to trainees and specialist surgeons, in the UK and throughout Europe and the world for over 10 years.

In addition to his clinical practice, Damian is the National Clinical Director for BUPA
