Christopher Caldarone, MD joined the Cardiovascular Surgery staff at the Hospital for Sick Children in 2003. Currently, he holds the Watson Family Chair in Cardiovascular Sciences at the Hospital for Sick Children. He is Professor and Chair of the Division of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Toronto. Dr Caldarone is an Associate Scientist in the Research Institute for the Hospital for Sick Children and cross-appointed in the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Caldarone obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1984 and his M.D. degree from Columbia University of Physicians and Surgeons in 1988. He complete his General Surgery Residency and Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at the New England Deaconess/Harvard Medical School. During his training, Dr. Caldarone spent a year at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto as a Clinical Fellow in Cardiovascular Surgery.
