Dr. Chung comes to Moffitt from Johns Hopkins University, where she was Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Therapeutics Program in the Department of Oncology and Otolaryngology. Prior to her time at Johns Hopkins, Chung was an assistant professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from 2003 to 2010. “I am thrilled to join Moffitt Cancer Center and to use my clinical background in multidisciplinary care and translational research in the bench-to-bedside environment,” Chung says.
She also hopes to advance the understanding of the clinical and biological differences between human papillomavirus (HPV) and tobacco-related head and neck cancers, as well as providing personalized care specific to the patient, building on Moffitt’s experience in these areas. “We welcome Dr. Chung to the Department and fully expect her experience and expertise will enhance our programs here at Moffitt,” says Bryan McIver, M.D., Ph.D., leader of the Endocrine Oncology Program. Dr. Chung will facilitate the growth and development on the recently formed Department of Head and Neck, and Endocrine Oncology.
