Christina Scifres MD

Dr. Christina M. Scifres, MD, specializes in maternal-fetal medicine, with expertise in caring for women with high-risk pregnancies as well as their unborn babies. Maternal-fetal medicine specialists treat patients with pre-existing conditions such as pre-existing diabetes and chronic blood pressure, as well as preeclampsia, preterm labor, and other complex medical conditions that impact pregnancy. Dr. Scifres' clinical and research efforts center on improving outcomes in pregnancies complicated by diabetes and obesity.

Dr. Scifress is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology and became division director of maternal-fetal medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2020.  She currently oversees 10 full-time teaching faculty and three maternal fetal medicine fellows.
