Christiane Pott MD, PhD

Prof. Christiane Pott is Deputy Director of the Second Department of Medicine, Hematology and Oncology at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel, Germany. She became a full Professor of Clinical-Experimental Hematology at Christian-Albrecht University in Kiel in 2016. Her scientific focus is the development of molecular genetic methods for the detection of minimal residual disease (MRD) and biological characterization of malignant lymphomas. She is involved in the scientific program for a large number of clinical trials. Since 1998, Professor Pott has been a leading member of the European BIOMED2 consortium for molecular diagnostics in lymphomas and leukemias. Since 2000 she has been the coordinator of several national and international studies for MRD detection in malignant lymphomas (GLSG, EU-MCL network) and is the coordinator of the work package "Minimal Residual Disease Detection in MCL" within the European MCL Research Network. In 2010, Professor Pott was awarded the “Hans-Jochen-Illiger Gedächtnispreis“ for clinical oncology. She has been a board member of the Euroclonality NGS network, a subgroup of ESHLO, since 2015. As head of the study center at the Medical Department II, she is leading several clinical trials for lymphoma and CLL patients as principal investigator. Since 2019 she has been responsible for the CAR-T cell program of the university. Professor Pott is a member of the German Society of Internal Medicine, the German Society of Hematology and Oncology (DGHO), and the German AIDS – Society. Professor Pott has authored numerous publications in international journals and is a reviewer for Leukemia, Leukemia and Lymphoma, British Journal of Haematology, Blood, Haematologica, and Lancet Oncology.
