Dr. Chris Fokke works in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Basingstoke, England. In 2013 he was appointed as the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO), leading on several programme streams associated with clinical systems design and development in the trust, in particular the in-house development of its EPR (Electronic Patient Record).
His nursing career has been in acute Neuro-science in New Zealand and English hospitals although his first Honours degree is in Community Health Care which he applied as a District nurse in Oxford. Chris’ second degree is an MSc in Information Technology and he is also a qualified PRINCE 2 practitioner.
Dr. Chris’ role is to interface, support and provide advice between the clinical- and IT function within the trust. Combining an executive clinical background with an advanced insight into IT/IS solutions has proven to be an asset in ensuring that IT is a solution in healthcare.
