Carolyn H. CuttinoBSN, RN, CWCN, CWS
Carolyn Cuttino is a board-certified wound care nurse and practiced at the Medical University of South Carolina, a 600-bed teaching hospital in Charleston, SC, for over 36 years. She now has Carolina Wound Management, a consulting company that provides education and wound management to skilled care facilities and industry. Carolyn is one of the founding directors of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and presently is on the planning committee for the Symposium of Advanced Wound Care. She has numerous wound care publications and has lectured extensively throughout the country on wound management. Carolyn has over 36 years of wound care experience which she shares willingly with the wound care industry.
She is a past President of the Southeast Region and past chair of the National Conference Planning Committee of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Society. She was the 2009 recipient of the Symposium of Advanced Wound Care Founders Award, given for contributions toward the success of the symposium and the advancement of wound care. Carolyn presently consults with the Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence in CMS’s Pressure Ulcer Initiative. She provides education, facility assessments, and assistance with processes to improve chronic wound prevention and management in skilled care facilities throughout South Carolina and North Carolina. She also serves as an expert witness in legal cases involving wound care and medical malpractice for various law firms throughout the country.
