Caroline Trapp, DNP ANP-BC CDE FAANP DipACLM is committed to changing the way diabetes is treated. Pills, injections, finger sticks, portion control, going hungry, carb-ophobia… there is a better way! Dr. Trapp is the diabetes nurse practitioner with Premier Internists of Southfield, Michigan, and the Director of Diabetes Education and Care for the nonprofit Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. She obtained her Master’s degree in Community Health Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and her BSN and post-Master’s certification in Adult Primary Care from the University of Michigan, where she is now an adjunct faculty member. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Madonna University, Livonia, Michigan.
Dr. Trapp has been a certified diabetes educator since 1994 and an adult primary care Nurse Practitioner specializing in the care of people with diabetes since 1998 and was honored to be inducted as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She was also board certified in advanced diabetes management, is a Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and has co-authored three peer-reviewed scientific journal articles.
