Carol C. Weitzman, MD, is director of Yale Medicine’s Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Program and Adoption/Foster Clinic, and a developmental-behavioral pediatrician. She treats children of all ages for problems including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, cognitive problems and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. “I assure patients that we will be thorough in our evaluations, explain everything we do, individualize our care and continue to follow their child so that they know they are not alone in their journey,” Dr. Weitzman says.
A professor of pediatrics and in the Yale Child Study Center, Dr. Weitzman has served as principal investigator on many federally funded research projects and authored national policy statements related to developmental and behavioral pediatrics. Her current research seeks to reduce disparities in identifying and treating children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
