Dr. Kessler earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa and a DDS from the University of Illinois. He completed a residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he focused on dental management of medically compromised patients, specifically analyzing how teeth affect systemic diseases and vice versa. From 1997 to 2000, Kessler mentored under Dr. Rob Terry at a private practice in Flint, Michigan. It was here that he was introduced to the Pankey Philosophy, the highly respected approach to comprehensive care. During this time, Kessler was also a clinical associate professor at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Kessler recently served at the Colorado Dental Association's 128th president. He is a past board member of the Metro Denver Dental Society as well as a former part-time faculty member of the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. He also serves as the chair of the Dental Well Being Committee for the State of Colorado. In 2007, Dr. Kessler testified before congress on behalf of the ADA on the ravages of methamphetamines on oral health. He speaks internationally regarding this subject. Dr. Kessler is passionate about organized dentistry and advocacy for oral health and patient care.
