Brett A. Dodd, BSN, RN, is the trauma education, injury prevention and outreach coordinator at Cedars-Sinai, a Level 1 trauma center designated by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and verified by the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Society of Trauma Nurses, American Trauma Society, Emergency Nurses Association and American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. He holds specialty certifications as a trauma certified registered nurse, certified emergency nurse, critical care registered nurse, certified pediatric emergency nurse and certified flight registered nurse. Dodd serves as the course director for the Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses course, instructs the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course and has taught nationally on a variety of emergency, trauma and critical care topics.
He has over 20 years of clinical experience in healthcare, including pre-hospital, emergency, critical care, flight and disaster medicine. He has served in leadership and education roles with hospitals and trauma centers. Dodd obtained his bachelor of science in nursing degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing, where he graduated with President's Honors and was inducted into the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International.
