Brenda Jenkins RN, D.Ay., CDOE, CPEHR, PCMH CCE, is a Senior Program Administrator at Healthcentric Advisors, the New England Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO). She serves as the Regional Lead in the 6 New England states for the ‘Everyone with Diabetes Counts’ task and the Rhode Island State lead for the ‘Improving Cardiac Health with Quality Reporting’ task.
Through these projects she supports physician practices, home health agencies and community partners to improve health literacy, cardiac and diabetes clinical outcomes and patient engagement through process improvements and evidence-based self-management programs. Brenda and her team leverage tools they have created to support practices with practice transformation, patient engagement, the Team Care Model, EHR and QI readiness, practice quality reporting, workflow redesign, EHR implementation and optimization.
Ms. Jenkins has served as a member of the PCMH Kids Practice Facilitation team, the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Task Force and has served on the national Meaningful Use Task Force of the Center for eHealth Information Adoption and Exchange, under the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative. She is a Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educator (CDOE) and chairs the Rhode Island CDOE Board of Directors.
She is certified as a Stanford Diabetes Self-Management Program Master Trainer and Chronic Pain Self-Management Leader, is a Certified Professional in Electronic Health Records (CPEHR) and a National Committee for Quality Assurance Patient-Centered Medical Home Certified Content Expert (PCMH CCE). Ms. Jenkins also is a member of our Patient and Family Engagement taskforce. Throughout her career, Ms. Jenkins has held management and QI positions in hospital, home health and physician office settings.
