Dr. Bonnie Wiese is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UBC and is certified as a subspecialist in Geriatric Psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She completed her MD and Psychiatry residency training at UBC and also has postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology having obtained a Masters Degree.
She is a staff psychiatrist at Vancouver Hospital, where she is part of a multidisciplinary team delivering geriatric psychiatric care primarily on an outpatient basis, both through a clinic as well as through outreach to facilities and seniors’ homes. Also, she is a member of the Neurostimulation Program at Vancouver Hospital where she practices both ECT and TMS. She very much enjoys teaching and is involved with the training of both medical undergraduate students as well as postgraduate residents across Psychiatry, Family Practice and Geriatric Medicine.
She has an interest in geriatric depression and anxiety, and has published in these areas as well as chronic pain. She has been a CAGP Board member since 2015.
