Beau Ances, MSc, MD, PhD is an Associate professor of Neurology, Radiology, Microbiology, and Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in Saint Louis (WUSTL). He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and obtained a MSc. in Health Planning and Finance from London School of Economics (LSE) through a Thouron fellowship. He returned back to the University of Pennsylvania where he obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. He completed his neurology residency at Penn. During his residency he became very interested in the neurological complications of HIV. He completed a NeuroAIDS fellowship at the University of California San Diego (UCSD).
Dr. Ances has received numerous awards including the Eric C. Raps Memorial Prize for excellence in Clinical Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania, the Arthur Asbury Neurology Resident Award the University of Pennsylvania, the Penn Pearl Award, Universitywide AIDS Research Program of California Award, the American Federation for AIDS Research (amFAR) Fellowship Award, Dana Foundation Brain Immuno-Imaging Scholar, the Alzheimer’s Association New Investigator Award, Kopolow Award for Excellence in Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurology at WUSTL, and the Penn MD/ PhD Alumni Award. He is the recipient of multiple R01 awards from the National Institute of Health (NIH) and has served on multiple NIH study sections.
